Flt Lt Al Gardener

Many of you who served on Valiants, Canberras or Victors will be sorry to hear that Al Gardener, who served as a nav on all three, has passed away after a long illness. I was on 214 with Al and he was a really nice chap, quiet and unassuming with never an unkind word for anyone. He was a stalwart at the V Force reunions, manning the Valiant table on both occasions ably assisted by his wife Florence.

My sympathies to Florence and the family.

I did not know the chap at all, but he sounds like somebody who will be a huge loss to everybody that knew him.

My Condolences.

My wife and I would like to add our sympathies to Florence and the family. Al was indeed one of natures gentlmen but underneath I suspect a bit of a quiet rebel, just look at the shirts he wore. He was my Nav during Corporate and kept me sane. Very sad.
