Former RAF airman killed with son

British father and son die during practice flight Menorca air competition - Times Online

Two British nationals killed in Beach Baron twin engine, sounds like an EFATO to me.

Says he was in the RAF, did anybody know him?

No - it reports:
had previously served in the RAF
and that, for the last 32 years owned a village garage.

What a peculiar reply Is everyone supposed to reply with a yes or no then?

Randomly I did know him - very vaguely - as he owned the garage over the road from some good friends of mine a while back. V sad.

Air race deaths

Sadly sounds like it may be a re-run of the 1970's Prince William of Gloucester air race death - steep climbing turn maybe too soon after take off ? L/Level stall spin no height for recovery.

What a peculiar reply
I thought it a peculiar post given the incredibly tenuous mil connection.

Ex RAF chap now a pilot, I've seen a lot more tenuous links to the military and aviation on here. Lets not forget that the deaths of 2 people is what's been reported on here. RIP
