Serving guys writing books!

A new and possible up and coming writer
WO2 Mick Flynn.CGC.MC. has decided to write about his combat activities stemming from the Falklands to Afghanistan! The book is out in early June a small summary is below!
Summer 2006, Afghanistan: an apparently deserted village, three possible routes through it, and a rapidly ticking clock…

The relentless Taliban ambush which followed saw several soldiers dead, two armoured vehicles destroyed – and Corporal of Horse Michael Flynn awarded an MC to go alongside his Conspicuous Gallantry Cross.

Mick Flynn has never backed away from a challenge. From his uncompromising South Wales childhood – within a whisker, at one point, of Cardiff Prison – to the streets of Belfast, where he first learned the bitter realities of armed conflict, he’s had no difficulty finding and facing trouble. Whether on the wind-swept Falklands cliff tops, where he witnessed the Sir Galahad going up in flames, or in the searing deserts of Iraq, where he and his crew pinned down an entire division of enemy tanks, he has carried the attack with a coolness that has earned him the respect of princes, generals and his fellow soldiers.

Mick Flynn has seen action in every major British war zone of the past thirty years and still serves with the legendary Blues and Royals today. Bullet Magnet is his story – the story of an extraordinary modern warrior who mixes warmth and humour, and at times heartbreaking poignancy with truly breathtaking fighting skills.

What do you think about serving members doing such things??

Most of them have official sanction. I know the Harrier book that was 'written' from a RN perspective was touted around the RAF first - but nobody wanted it. The RN was far sharper about the positive PR it could gain and their chaps did the right thing.

There is a connection to Aviation... Mick Flynn fought alongside 3 Regt AAC Battlegroup Lynx and Gazelles during Op Telic 1. Seriously brave (or crazy!!) man - I watched him, under fire, drive his Scimitar alongside a Striker climb in through the cupola with his legs hanging out the top and point out targets to the crew!! One of the many acts of bravery from the HCR. I wish him every success with his book!
