39 Sqn

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, but does anyone know if 39 Sqn is planning to move back to the UK in the next few years? Or wants to but lacks the resources/ airspace clearences?

Cheers,

J

Llanbedr is the rumour! Easy access to D201 and clear airspace.

Your best bet is to talk to HQ Air Manning, RAF Waddington FHQ (they look after 39 Sqn) or HQ 2Gp. They will have the "Pucca" information if you're thinking of transferring to Reaper.

I wouldn't expect Reaper aircraft to come back to the UK as all the air vehicles are on operations - they are, after all, procured under Urgent Operational Requirement! Therefore, if they were coming home then I would expect that only the control cabins would come back to the UK and the aircraft would remain in Theatre.

Make sense???
