Upgrades to Super Hornet and Growler

Nice writeup of Boeing's concept for upgrading the Super Hornet.

" Kinematic performance " ? Does this mean A, I've got things wrong as usual, B it's meant to say Kinetic, or C, the thing's going to take high quality films while it goes about it's business ?!

Might have something to be said for it as weapons and systems develop into a Duncan Sandys style future, but I've yet to hear of an F-18, Super or otherwise, performing a vertical landing with a happy ending.

Answer = A...

Kinematics = the performance (speed, 'G' etc) of the missile in laymans terms.

Quite agree, I remember the test range theodolite tracking Kine cameras ( on a side-note, seem to remember the Kine's at West Freugh were liberated from Penimunde complete with embossed Swastikas, and the W.F. Range was modelled on the place ).

Please excuse a funny moment while ill, will refrain from further posts unless back on Earth...
