RAF Chipmunks
So did a lot of Army pilots including me so the legs must have stood lots of 'army' landings. Happy Easter to you too.
Just for interest I've looked up the summary of my Chipmunk BFW, a total of 57.5 hours of which 20.5 was solo and 2.6 at night and 3.2 surprisingly actual and a total of 16 instrument approaches (various).

Just a reminder for those interested ...
65 Chipmunks would now appear to be 'Booked' for the Chipmunk 70th at Old Warden this coming Sunday 22 May 2016.
Clearly final attendance will be governed by serviceability and weather ... Let's hope the forecast improves over the next 48 Hrs
I had planned to drive up and make the most of what might be a marvelous photo opportunity. Unfortunately my Brother's wife is unwell so my priorities are elsewhere this weekend.
If anyone does go ... Some pics of the 'Old Girls' on this thread would be much appreciated by many I'm sure

My 'old girl' is going as well but without me - flown by a couple of the other owners. Sadly I am wrapped up in flying stuff on Saturday and so SWMBO has plans for me on Sunday :-(
Maybe the 75th will be the next...

ATC Summer Camp 1970
2431 (Keighley) Squadron ATC
I must try and dig out the air-to-air shots, then I will be able to see which Chipmunks they were?!

. . . and my photo, Coff :-D
Very sorry to hear you will not be there. It has been a very busy couple of weeks, fingers crossed for the weather!

Vintage ATCO,
Just wish to say what a great day it was at Old Warden! You got the weather sorted, the aircraft there on time and in a very presentable fashion!! I found four that i had instructed on over the years and talking to the owners was a real joy (I think/hope that they appreciated it as well!). I took WP925 to the 50th at Wellesbourne.
Many, many thanks for a great day out!
Bill.

RAF Student Study Guide - Chipmunk?
Folks,
I just missed out on a Student Study Guide on ebay.
Would anyone have a copy (or pdf?) for sale please?
Just converting to type and the collective wisdom would be useful!
Many thanks,
lsh

Ish ... I would gladly have helped you, but sadly I gave my copy plus other bits and bobs to an ATC Squadron in the mid/late 80's ...
And YES ... I do wish I had kept it
Null ... You're a Very Naughty Boy

As promised ... here are the Twitter URL's containing some more stunning pics from last weekend. I thought it was best to do it this way to save possibly upsetting the Image Owners by re-Hosting them for PPRuNe purposes.
The following images were posted by Andrew Clayton (ClassicWarBirds), by way of Image Credit.

I would also just mention that one of the Editors of UK Airshow Review has subsequently contacted me ... and has offered to send me the URL of an article they intend to publish shortly covering the 'Chipmunk 70th' celebrations (with more pics). As soon as I have his clearance ... I will post the URL here.
Best ...
