ELCs for Type Rating?
Has anybody managed to use ELCs to pay towards a type rating?

Yup - R22 in 2005, R44 in 2006. So long as the training provider is registered with ELCAS you should be fine. I used Helicopter Services at High Wycombe, but I am sure that other providers are available.

the forms are straight forward enough for any provider - where/who would be convenient - then again - isn't accomodation paid for ....
