Congratulations to Flt Lt Heal, everyone one else honoured today and those that go unrecognised.

Has anyone else noticed how the "The Young People of today don't know they were born", Daily-Mail-reading brigade has shut up over the last couple of years?

Every few years a new bunch of "young wasters" step up to the crease.

As CC says well done to all those not mentioned.

I was lucky enough to be able to congratulate Flight Lieutenant Heal personally today. He seemed to be a thoroughly nice chap, self effacing and modest, and with a nice line in banter. A credit to the Chinook force and the RAF.

These men and women are a credit to our nation; I feel humbled just reading about their exploits, selflessness, bravery and courage.

Let's also hope that, in time, they will make better leaders (maybe even politicians) than some of the current self-serving lot in MoD, Whitehall and Westminster.
