I think the article mentions THAT damage due to the landing (which could have been heavy with such a small elevator surface remaing).

So they avoided the mountain but not the trees on the mountain? Should perhaps have pulled 4,5 G...

Seriously, reminds me of the pics of WW2 B17's all shot up. Remarkable machines.

Pah, seen worse, a box of nails, a couple of sheets of 10mm ply and a few rolls of black nasty should fix that up nice........

I'd send the chippy right over, but he's building a bar at the moment
