While currently we in the UK don't need the F-35 ( B ) by the time it's ready we will, and it will be pretty much the only choice.
China's usual less than subtle hints over the last few days must be a boon to salesmen of the F-35 and UK CVF's, maybe one will not be a helicopter carrier after all, and 2 squadron's worth of aircraft bought; after all, it's a daft idea that one doesn't effectively have a carrier air group all the time that one carrier is in refit, while a V/STOL fighter carrier is perfectly acceptable to helicopters...
