Sukhoi T-50 Fighter Starting Flight Tests

Hi All,

Does anyone have any other information or pictures on T-50? It would be interesting to see this thing.

Here is the article I came across. T-50 Starting Flight Tests.

Googled and found the following link:

As your article says, unlikely to have any real pics until it flies.

A HNY to all our readers!

On one of the You-tube animations it lists some 'facts' about the aircraft and one the 'facts' it lists is the wavelength of the radar which is quoted as 3mm.

Either this is a typo, in which case what others have been misreported or its a new ball park in military aircraft radar.

Radar with "3mm" wavelength

Unless my maths is astray, 3mm wavelength ~= 100GHz frequency.
That's gotta be a typo.
3cm (Ku-Band) seems rather more likely

3mm wavelength radar

Millimetre wave radar is a possibility, I worked on a development airborne one in the late eighties, 98GHz if I remember correctly. However, not too sure if it would be any good as an AI radar as atmospheric attenuation can be very high at those frequencies.

I wonder if these guys will have years of test flights money issues and delays like most modern Western aircraft or I am just having a dig at BAE only.
