Thumbs down CAT 5 in Oman... already

Can anyone shed any light on the rumour circulating today that there has been a CAT 5 crash in Oman involving an Army Lynx (no casualties) flown by an RAF pilot??

The was something on the 1'oclock news today about it. They said both pilots survived, but gave no further details.

Yep, it was Mk 9 on a Cat III. Airframe is trashed but crew are OK. If you want any more, wait for the BOI!

Unhappy

Once again this incident shows us that the business of military aviation is not just medals before breakfast.
I believe the crew were pretty lucky to get out as I heard that the rotables were bust and the airframe caught light.

U keep on busting em and I'll try to fix em.
