RAF Coltishall Sex Offenders' Prison
BBC Look East yesterday broke the news that the prison to be built on the old RAF Coltishall site is to house 'sex offenders'. Who says that HMG doesn't have a sense of humour!

And EDP broke the news that "RAF Coltishall sex offenders prison to be named HMP Bure" on 1st Oct and widely comments on PPRuNe at the time.
Perhaps the BBC should read PPRuNe rather than employing reporters to keep up with the latest news. Would save on the TV poll tax.

There may be something being built there but offenders are already arriving to use exiting facilities. I met someone on a train from Norwich yesterday who was to do with education in the prison. They told me they were getting 25 new imates per day right now. The benefits apparently is that all detainees are sex offenders they don't have to be segregated!

I think the news was that it opened (or closed?) for business yesterday.
The jail is modelled entirely on Honington Circa 1977, cept the morale won't be as crap.
