follow up of Yorkshire Lynx crash
Bit harsh, Max.
Not everyone is placed to conveniently gain access to such reports, even if entitled and interested. If any valid/valuable lessons can be learned without detriment to people's reputations/careers, why not talk about them here?

This is exactly the right forum to give the type of feedback that you so self righteously deny. If everybody said that all information was available officially, then there would be no requirement for this site. Why do you bother to check in here??

Chaps, have no desire to get involved in anonymous niff naff so have edited and deleted my posts! I will keep tabs on the thread though.
With over 4000 hours in the Lynx I think that I have a good feel for the associated problems as well as its excellent points (of which there are many).
Regards to all and safe flying.

Without making this sound like they are falling out of the sky all over:
is this aimed at Ricks commendable attemt to put a sabotaged ac on to the ground in Yorkshire or an ac that left Yorkshire unfortunately to arrive somewhere in Lincolnshire? Not judging , just not sure which Lx prang we are on about. Have seen findings of Dishforth Lx. Don’t have it ready at hand now but remember thinking that I wasn’t very happy with some of it. How can you have a build up of flammable vaporised mist in an area that has a 120kt wind blowing through it?

From someone who suffered a major hyd failure, he said that the cabin area filled with a red mist of hyd fluid. Also with the main reservoirs being forward of the engine intakes, there is also the possibility of the contents going straight into the engine.
Hence the "check for signs of fire" in the FRC actions for Hyd Failure.
The pilot who died was my pilot during the Gulf.

Bockywocky, to prevent handbags at dawn over a possible misunderstanding about "which" Yorkshire incident, could you please elaborate. Are we talking the fatal (from Yorkshire) or the non fatal (in Yorkshire). Gent's let's cool down and wait for the reply.

Sorry for responding so late, but I was abroad doing simulator training. The crash I was wondering about, is the one having a tailrotor problem and flying back to base (t/r drive or control fail?). As far as I know the lynx community is still wondering what to to when having a t/r control failure, so if this was one....
