Post ATPL IN NZ/AUSTRALIA??

Have found that trg in NZ/Aus is far cheaper than in the UK and that in NZ foreign mil personnel can get a few exemptions. Is it worth doing an ATPL out there and then converting it back to a JAR ATPL in the UK??. .. .What pitfalls are associated with going along this route in terms of later employability?

Bad news...The UK CAA give little or no exemptions for a Foreign (non-JAA) ATPL. I understand there is no exemptions whatsoever for the written exams and limited exemptions for the flying.. .. .However, should someone start a JAA recognised school "downunder", then you are in business.. .Word of caution about NZ; whilst I am not entirely up to date, they require an ATPL flight test in a pressurised NZ registered Air Transport Aircraft...$$$ . .. .As for the job prospects; NZ and OZ are awash with pilots, however most Asian countries(including HKG) recognise NZ/OZ licences. . .. .Good news, the weather, food and wine are better down under...and once you get the hang of the beer and shelias ...it's great!!!. .. .Hope this helps and good luck!

Thanks Kiwi defender. Doesn't sound like a rosy option then. Have tried the wines and weather there - excellent.
