Wink money, money, money.

Must be funny....so wrote ABBA ( a fine bunch of swedes!). Whilst I don't intend to give any bonus I might receive to charity when a targeted bonus is called an incentive I must make the obvious observations. When a Chap or Chapette is in the last five years of service prior to his/her IPP the idea that they will leave and bin their pension is laughable and to my knowledge simply doesn't happen in my mob, ( wide open on that one!). So do they need to be given an incentive wad to continue doing what they are doing to collect their pension? From IPP for Army SNCOs continuance is by selection for the LSL (A) list ( which grants five years) Ask any unlucky crusty WO (Pilot) in the Army and he will probably say that the applications list is well oversubscribed, a well targeted incentive? Only if the list is greatly increased, and allows people to be lifted out of the IPP/continuance mire (five year investment in peoples experience/capability blah ).. .PA...nice one people, I can't wait for the detail and a breakdown of the "selection criteria", but otherwise on the face of it job well done..thankyou!! What I would now like to happen is have an indignant Army staff officer tell me that I've missed the big picture......thankyou!. .Finally thanks to their airships for all their hard work ( money isn't cheap ) and do bear in mind that it really hurts having to hang on to your coat tails... <img src="cool.gif" border="0">

I'm not an indignant Army staff officer, but with regard to your points on leaving within 5 years of IPP, you have to remember that this is a transition year. Next year (assuming the need and the ARR remains) only those passing the 33 and 38 points will get the cash, ie. it encourages people to continue into those 5 years and beyond, people already there will be unaffected.
