FTRS Notice Period?

I'm considering a return to the mob on FTRS. There are several (ground) roles that interest me, but I can't find out anywhere what the period of notice for FTRS personnel is.

Obviously I could make an official enquiry to get the answer, but it doesn't look too promising if an applicant is asking about leaving before posting out the CV! So hopefully by picking the collective brains here I'll be able to get a good idea of the terms of escape, if it's required, before the 4 years are up.

Cheers,

Andy

Andy,

If this is your real name, then you have probably already let the cat out of the bag!

Good luck, anyway!

Duncs

Have you tried speaking to someone already in as FTRS? There are a few QFIs at the training establishments.

I don't own this space under my name. I should have leased it while I still could

Andy, Google is your friend - 6 months notice on the DIN that I found. Your post shows you still have a military mind set. As an FTRS you need to think CIVILIAN. Think and work for yourself but use the comfort blank as a transition by all means.

Well I got out (as FTRS aircrew) in 2005 with only about 4 weeks notice after I had a solid job offer in civvy street. All I had to do was fill in a single A4 sheet sized form and Innsworth agreed my release date by return of post. It was all very informal, though of course it would all depend on how your desk officer viewed your usefulness to the Service at the time. In my case, my contract had about 14 months to run but my particular role was facing cutbacks (one out of three squadrons being disbanded).

I believe 3 months is the norm (standard UK employment law?). 6 months for aircrew. (But what about aircrew in a ground post?)
Works perfectly for that Netjets 3 months recall notice if that is what you are worried about.
