UN Plane Crash

Just heard on BBC 24 UN plane cashed in Haiti / Dom Republic 9 dead

UNITED NATIONS — A surveillance plane assigned to the U.N. peacekeeping mission in Haiti crashed Friday near the border with the Dominican Republic with 6 to 10 military personnel on board, the United Nations said. U.N. spokeswoman Michele Montas said the Uruguayan plane went down in rugged terrain west of Fonds-Verrettes.

Aircraft was a CASA212 a modern Skyvan high wing twin turbo prop type with Pax/Cargo configurations - dead now listed as 11
