Lightbulb Finger Torches

Anyone know, either on the web, or form a shop wher I can get hold of a decent Finger Torch, or possibly a lip activated torch that attatches to your mic. Currently usin one from Millets, costs £5 and works like it does, runs out every month. Appriciate any steers.

Cheers.

If in the UK, try Maplin Electronics (could be the type you already have?) or Transair Pilots shop. Both I think are about the same price. You may just have to find a cheaper source for batteries though.....

www.seitzinc.com.

A US company, but I have both a lip and fingerlight off them and both are very good. The finger light looks a little frangible, but isn't at all.

www.nvec-night-vision might be worth a look, I think they have lip lghts and finger torches. I got my finger torch at the Airborne Forces Museum in Aldershot (believe it or not) and they can get various colours of bulbs too. Good luck!

Thumbs down

I have both a lip light and a finger torch and both are excellent - HOWEVER - recent Dutch experience in the desert showed that use of the lip light can give away the position of the helicopter to ground troops long before it would otherwise be spotted. Not a problem for UK use but worth considering under the "train as you fight" theme?
