I'm neither ex-RN nor ex-Bucc but if the word "inbound" implies that the Bucc was "inbound" then I'd suggest it was more likely that the Bucc was "outbound" off the cat. Can't see a strop dropping away or a catch net, however.

"Inbound" refers to the fact that it is incomplete, not about to land 
A strop will be seen at a later date as I am led to believe that after 20 launches they were used for the last time and sent overboard.
Good references for the deck are like chickens teeth to find, which shows that we should preserve in film aviation today because it will soon be gone forever.

Technical accuracy? Fairly limited, apart from the Bucc not even being on the cat centre line, and the Wessie 1 looking ever so slightly pregnant.....

Thankyou for your comments John, obviously the deck is not yet painted and I was aware of several errors in its initial drawing, indeed your F4 photo will be invaluable reference for which I thankyou.
The information that I seek is that it would appear that a Bucc on departure has the same control setup (flaps, ailerons) as it does on arrival, Johns photo appears to confirm this.
A few years ago artist David Shepard painted a VC10 taking off with full flap and has never lived it down since, I am quite keen to ensure that my observations are correct as in normal terrestrial based flight they would be wrong.
Must be a Bucc man out there somewhere....

It looks really good to me. The Ark was fitted with a strop-catcher at some time as it was deemed too expensive to ditch a strop every launch. If you are concerned about the A/C being off centreline and in a landing configeration, why don't you just change the title to "Bolter Bolter!". Pity you can't paint the amazing noise of a cat launch!
