NVG Question

In the book "Joint Force Harrier" it mentions that the view through NVGs is blue. Is blue the new green? Did the colour change due to a new type of goggle, or is blue better than the old green?

All the ones that I've used have been green, but it's been 12 years now and things have probably moved on from Gen 3. I'm thinking.

Depends where they are made....if in Japan, then they [more than likely] would be blue, apparently 'cos most Japanese are colour blind in the Green zone
[JSDF nav lights are Red and Blue]

chiglet might have the answer, or at least a good steer, as dichromats can see green as a grubby white colour, to the point where BR changed the green lights in their signals to a blue/green in order to avoid any confusion.
