Why so few Operational Updates Jul09

Just been on the RAF website to see what we are doing on Ops.

See link:
RAF Operational Update - Ops Update - Jul 2009

Looking at previous posts this website has been updated weekly for both theatres.

Whilst I appreciate that Telic has all but gone. Surely the webmaster can find some useful info to post for Herrick. I cant believe nothing of any interest has happened since 05 Jul.

With the arrival of GR4 you would of thought the RAF would be singing its praises as it did with the Harrier force. OK there has been some mishaps as posted on here. But surely the RAF must be able to promote our boys and girls out there. Not even a mention of SH and AT activity, now dont tell me they're not doing anything positive. With Panthers Claw dominating the headlines surely SH and AT could get a mention.

But I suppose they're not sharp or pointy enough to warrant a few lines on the web.!! Well at least they can land and take off without crashing!!!

So come on webmaster get your laptop out and kickstart this link and put us back in the news, why let the army get all the glory.

Mighty Quercus, All good points. Even the RAF News who do carry articles about SH & AT, it then uses Typhoon logos to indicate where are forces are in their paper (no deployed Typhoon to my knowledge). SH & AT will always be overlooked by the senior echelons of the RAF Command... unless there are DFCs to be handed out, then they suddenly remember!

Updates

MQ. There is one brand new MoD update that has never been offered before. Try this one for Selly Oak and Headley Court.

It would appear that the RAF webmaster has taken note of this thread... updates now posted for 12 and 19 July:

RAF Operational Update - Ops Update - Jul 2009

Later, an aircraft fired a missile at enemy forces; the first such event for a Tornado in Afghanistan.
I doubt they're firing Stormshadow at the Taliban, so does this mean that the new laser-guided Brimstone has seen action?

I'm surprised at how quiet it's been on the Tornado front, especially after the political furore that preceded the GR9-GR4 changeover. Contrast with the acres of coverage JFH got on TV and in the papers before they came home - then even a Tornado crashing doesn't make the news! Hopefully this means they're getting on with the job, and nobody on the ground has noticed the changeover. However, the cynic in me wonders if the Tornado's contribution is going to be kept quiet to ease the way for cuts next year...

Think it's the former mate... not the GR4 way to make a fuss, just get on with it... like the last 19 years in the other place.

"It's come storming out of nowhere"

Some Journos may be aware. In this article it was stated:
With a release date of September 15th set, the idea is you harnass a Tornado to rip up a landscape and do battle with other enemies. No, we're not entirely sure how it works either, but we'll find out in just over a month.
