It is with regret that I report the passing today (25thMay2009) of former RAAF and Cathay Pacific Flight Engineer Joe Vellacott following a lengthy battle with cancer. A true gentleman and a thoroughly professional airman who will surely have clear blue skies eternally. RIP Joe. Funeral will be held at Boonah, approx 40 Km south west of Ipswich (Qld) at 1100 Thursday 28th from All Saints Church, Church St Boonah. Boonah is equi-distant from both Gold Coast and Brisbane airports.

Very sorry to hear that. I had the pleasure to fly with Joe in CX and learned a lot from him. RIP Joe

I flew with and new Joe in CPA -very sorry to hear the news -he was a gent

RIP Joe, I will fondly remember the C-130H days at 36SQN.
