RAF C-17 for Abingdon

As one of those helping with the promotion of the show, I'd like to draw attention to the fact that the forthcoming Abingdon Air & Country Show in Oxfordshire on May 3rd will, subject to operational commitments, include an RAF C-17 Globemaster III from No 99 Squadron at RAF Brize Norton in the show's static display.

This will be the largest aircraft to visit Abingdon Airfield since the RAF left in 1992, and will undoubtedly prove to be a spectacular sight as it operates from the airfield.

The current plan is for the aircraft to land in the morning, form part of the static display and then depart back to Brize at the end of the day.

This is quite a coup for a show that is a completely volunteer-run event, staged for the benefit of the local air ambulance.

The show is now in its 10th successive year and there'll be lots more to see on the day in the air and on the ground.
