Tankertrashnav,

RFS = Radar Flying Squadron, part of the OCU, Hastings and Vulcans. We got Navrads ready for the OCU course.

Nothing matters very much, most things don't matter at all.

Thanks for that - like the predecessor of the NBS course I did at Lindholme on the Hastings I assume. Anyway, RFS obviously welcome at reunion.

SRAM - could you send me PM so that I can get email address?

There has been a question posted about further details and since i attended the 2004 reunion and the evening function , I could , possibly , help advertise , this event ? for your information the next reunion of the VCCR is in October this year near RAF Brize Norton. Guests of 101 Squadron . regards Doug

Doug, Thanks very much for your offer of help in promoting this event. I am currently compiling an email list of Squadron Associations, RAFA, ACA etc and similar organisations who will shortly be receiving a request to publicise the reunion on their own websites, news sheets etc. If you send me a PM I can get your email off that and I will put you on the address list. This applies to anyone out there who is involved with an organisation associated with the V Force, however loosely, who may like to help by forwarding info for us. Thanks

Thanks Bob. I've had a word with the mods about this email address business - apparently its something to do with the people who run the site and not something that can be sorted easily - anyway got the address and have it noted. Thanks

V Force reunion website

Pleased to say we now have a website dedicated to this reunion up and running. All interested should visit the site by clicking the link www.vforcereunion.co.uk . Please bookmark the site, as updates about the reunion will be posted on there from now on. No need to book as yet - we will let you know nearer the time, although if you are definite about coming there is no harm done if you book early.

Sorry to be pedantic but the silhouette of the Valiant on the Website is of a Valiant B2. You can tell by the undercarriage housings aft of the trailing edge. The B2 was a prototype only, never in service.

Well I could say that we meant that we are also happy to welcome those who worked on the prototype Valiant B2 (which indeed we are) but I have to admit I hadn't noticed. Still, as the guy who set up the site is doing it on a "cost only" non-profit basis I dont think I'll be asking him to change it. Well spotted though.

V Force Photos requested

I hope some of you have had a chance to look at the reunion site. Please feel free to add a comment to the guestbook even if you aren't able to come to the reunion - I'm hoping it can serve as a mini Friends Reunited in putting old chums back in touch.

What I'd like now is some relevant material for a photos page we are setting up. There is no problem getting photos of the aircraft, but if you have anything in the way of crew pictures, especially with individuals named, that would be good. Also anything with people in, guys working on the flight line etc. Interesting aircraft shots too, particularly Valiants. Op Grapple would be good.

Your ownership of copyright will be respected and please acknowledge if you are submitting somebdy else's and get permission where possible.

Email direct to the website in jpg form using the link on the website V-Force Reunion on the Gallery page please, not through PPrune. Thanks

Just to let you know the reunion website V-Force Reunion has just been updated with the latest info. Those of you who havent visited the site, have a look, and in particular check out the gallery - there have been some excellent pictures submitted, but we could still do with more.

Reunion website update

Just a heads up that I have just updated the website V-Force Reunion with some info on signing-in tables for the day. Next week I should be doing a further update with details of how to book for the evening function, so if you are hoping to come to that it is important to check the site out and get your bookings in as soon as I ask for them. NB we are asking for one or two more volunteers to man tables on the day (details on the site). Also please check you are getting the updated version of the site (4 Jan 10) and not the old version (17 Sep 09).

I'm a little interested - but am concerned to see email addresses appearing 'raw' in the web site guest book - even in these days of reasonably effective spam filters, offering up a tempting target to spam bots seems unwise - and accordingly I am loathe to register .

Just to let you know as indicated above I have now updated the site again V-Force Reunion , this time with details of how to book for the evening reception. If you want to go to this function, now's the time to act as last time we sold all 250 tickets and were turning people away.

Kiwibrit - No problem if you dont feel happy about registering, thats mainly just to give us an idea of expected numbers, so just turn up on the day (wish I lived as near!). Bookings for the reception do need to be made though, but as that is all by post there is no internet security implication. Hope to see you there!

Just to let you all know, Newark Air Museum are working out a "ground plan" for the reunion, and they would like to hear asap from any individuals/organisations that would like table-space for the purpose of a display or advertising for their organisation. We're thinking here of squadron associations or maybe individuals who can put on a display of photos, models etc which would be of interest, or anything else along those lines. Contact details are now shown shown at the end of the home page on the website V-Force Reunion

Just heard from Bill Williams, Nav Leader of the BBMF that they are planning a flypast by the Dakota on the Saturday of the reunion at Newark. Unfortunately the Lancaster will not be flying at all that weekend, but it will be good to see the Dakota. Just to forestall any enquiries, the Vulcan will still be on the ground at that stage, so there is no chance of it making an appearance - a great shame, but unavoidable.
