RAF Typhoon Sqns
If the rumours our to be believed, according to Defence Talk. com, the RAF will receive at least 40 Typhoon airframes from the first part of a sub-divided Tranche 3 purchase. I believed it was planned to have 7 front line Typhoon Sqns in total, but as Leeming was dropped from the plans, after Coningsby's 2 Sqns and Leuchar's 3 sqns, what is the possibility of more than 5 sqns now standing up and where could the additional sqns be stationed ???????

Machrihanish
Machrichanish could be re-activated (with the civvies getting compensation or operating alongside). It's got a huge runway, is away from areas of population, has built-in infrastructure, is in Scotland (so good for Labour votes), and is close to open flying areas.

Macrinash might actually make sense militarily, but
A, the Americans are well known to be operating flying saucers there
B, Much more importantly, it's hardly the place to find top tottie if you're the bee's knees fighter pilot.

DZ, (B) you everbeen to Conditz?
How about Cottesmore post 'puffa jet'?
I recon it's two Squadrons worth straight to amf to be stripped for spares for the rest of the fleet...
