Name that ATC tower

Hello,

I've recently bought an oil painting called "Salute to Friends" by D Waring. I don't know where it is meant to be- any ideas??

Thanks in advance for any solutions,
SB

Kemble? Tower looks similar to the one there, and there is, of course, a Reds link to the airfield which might fit the title.

Nice picture, I bought an original of a Chinook having relief supplies offloaded in the Snow from the Artist that painted it, it was on Ebay, and was the one used for the Benevolent Fund Christmas card one year....

Agree with Archimedes, some similarities to Kemble with perhaps a bit of artistic licence! This site may help

RAF Kemble airfield

Kemble. Buildings on left now bar and flying schools, trees in background part of the Fosse way. Probably!

Try googling Northumbrian Universities Air Squadron and contacting them. There's a D Waring who flies on the co-located Air Experience Flight.

I'd put my money on Scampton. Many a happy hour have I spent up on the balcony there.

Mmmm. Having found the Scampton site I couldn't locate last night -

Scampton Airfield, Domestic & Technical Site.

And

Scampton Fire Tender Building & NFE Store (Building 106)

Seem to point towards Scampton, I'd say...

Sorry, nothing like the Scampton Tower that I spent 2 years in (bottom floor) in 73-74; no Ground Radio, far too many trees and I can't recall that fire escape being there either.

Edited later to change my mind - after looking through the links above and a dose of artistic licence, aggressive planting of some trees and a dislike of Ground Radio it is Scampton.

Is it Swinderby? I think we had Hawks on the Reds before it closed down.

Swinderby tower well away from any other structure, some 400 yards or more.
