Ascent Contract For Flying Training

Anyone know much about the ASCENT contract for military rear crew training. I,ve heard Culdrose as the location but when and how will it be staffed?

MFTS locations

Baseing options were due to be announced Oct 08 - and were not.
Since then we at 3FTS have been told to expect to find out Summer09.
Culdrose definitely a possibility, but probably not central enough for our needs. Also has short runways, dated infrastructure and rubbish weather.
So even though I loved living in Cornwall, I don't really think I'll be moving back.

As for dates, who knows - we have a few legacy aircraft to wear out before we start renting them from Ascent.

Manning is looking like a mix of Ascent/blue(or navy or DPM) throughout in ratios to suit each module.
