He's back: MoD launches own 'Action Man' range of toys to boost profile of Armed Forces | Mail Online

Hmmm. So who posed as the model for that pilot on the right?

Judging from the eyebrows I would say it is our unloved Chancellor! Give us some money!

Do you think they will initially only be available with some kit missing due to supply shortages and difficulties within the procurement chain?

Remote controlled hovercraft does sound fun.

I'm not being bitchy, but the aircrew figure looks a little camp and rather startled - or is it inquisitive?

Then they have got that one spot on then.

Is this the Nu Labour post-credit crunch 2012 defence plan?

We buy thousands of these blighters, set up up in our back garden in various 'warry' poses, then take blurry shots of them with a 1970s instantmatic camera, and then mail said shots to the Taleban/Russia/Argies etc as a deterrent???

How insensitive

I am disgusted to see that the models are only available in white skinned men versions.

Where are the Asian, Black, Chinese and femail members of our armed forces who we value so much. These models would never make me consider joining todays military - it makes you think it is full of homophobic racists.

If the only PC version is the camp aircrew guy that is not good enough!

Detail on the infanteer is suspiciously good, if you ask me.
I suspect a cunning plan - buy a few hundred of these and place them in realistic poses a few feet from Taliban positions (SF tasked with night-time insertion).
Given heat haze and reasonably featureless stretch of desert, optical illusion will do the rest...
Bit like those exploding parachute dummies in 'The Longest Day', but smaller. And not exploding.

I think the MoD misunderstood the British Armed Forces when they said they wanted more, better equipment to be supplied with...

I can't wait when, (YES, WHEN...Or...."IF") the F-35B (B for Brick) enters service. Headlines: "Royal Navy Take Delivery Of Their First F-35B", Pilots Say: "Very Nice, But Wheres The Real Ones?". "Royal Air Force Pilots Laughter And Mockery At The Royal Navy Is Short Lived When They Realise They Have The Same Ones".

The pilot seems to be missing his kneeboards; but judging by his expression I think I know where they've been inserted.

The only lot likely to buy these are the Taliban, that is in the unlikely event they have a single sense of humour between them...

Let's see, he's wearing his oxygen mask while in a standing position and having his pistol drawn... He's obviously a tad confused...

It's probably accurate portrayal of a pilot then...

Wasn't it Robin Williams commenting on the unveiling of the F-117, " I've got nothing on radar except a guy in a sitting position at 40'000 ft ! "
