Thanks for the comment, taxydual. I posted because I too found it very touching, and I hoped it might strike a chord with some of the mums and dads away in sandy places (and elsewhere).

Btw, I particularly liked the little lad who is singing so far out of tune that he almost sounds as if he's singing harmony. But he isn't..... Bless.

I bloody hated every crap Christmas stage fest I was obliged to endure, expected to play the teary-eyed doting parent.

These kids aren't tiddlers. Man up. Dad's away. His choice. You were his choice as well, by the way.
