There is a simple answer why RN Lt Cdr's dont get MBE's, because senior officers cant be arsed! I have seen too many good Lt Cdrs, Sqn Ldrs, Majors get ignored (DS and JJ from JHC for instance), most have been very philosphical, some the recognition would have kept them in (rightly or wrongly!).
Those that know me probably think I am angling, well as a civvie of 4 months, even if I was I have well missed the boat!! (not that i was in any way in the frame!!
A 3* star once told me that its all a club, once you are in some senior officers dont want other to join, others do< I guess its luck of the draw who you get who can be bothered to write you up.
