Help...need advice (2)

Follow on from wanabnavypilot really, I too am doing a bit at the BoB dinner. I have looked at loads of websites with impressive rolls of honour, but none seem to summarise by service. I was wondering If anyone new of a site or had any stats regarding contribution made by other services, foreign and commonwealth as well as our own Fleet Air Arm?

Was thinking it would be nice to say something the joint aspect of the whole thing. Especially as messes now are rarely exclusively RAF.

I was going to use the word purple but it always reminds of the purple helmets comedy moped display team, then again there may be some parallels to the present day.........

He was after info on becoming a FAA Pilot you fool.
Ohhh... be nice... He'd obviously had a few beers on the way home from work and mistook a complete knobber for a brave and heroic pilot...

Never mind...

ianp, the boys didn't mention than purple messes are known as "tri-service" messes. Bit clinical I know, but you can always revert to more appropriate definitions as the evening goes on

Tri-service? I suppose you mean RN,Army and RAF, but what about us chaps in the Womans Auxillary Balloon Corps? Think I will stick with Purple Messes, it works in so many ways.
