UOR of your Choice

We all know we are short of stuff, so if you were given £500M of our taxpayers money to pop down to ASDA and by some more air frames of your choice, what would you get? and why?

At todays rollback prices:

5 more Typhoons? (£86M each)
50 Reapers (£10M each)
1 MRA4 (£290M each)
3 F22 (£150M each)
20 AH-64 (£20M each)
Something else

Don't worry about support (we never do anyway) just the aircraft.

Re-wing and upgrade the 9 remaining C130K SF frames: £150M
Upgrade 6 C130J to 'Shadow' spec: £250M
Buy and re-furbish/upgrade 2/3 Tristars: £100M

Might just keep the AT and Tac AT fleets going another 15 years!

I wish

Rather biased here seeing as I spent most of my career around SH but in all honesty it is the highest priority.

UH-60L's are about $6m a pop.
MH-60G's are about $10m and look very warry (good for airshows).
NH90's seem to be around $15m each if you want to stay European.

Perhaps buy a few squadrons worth and then use the left over money (remembering that we don't support our aircraft after all) to buy as many Tristars from the boneyeard as possible.

10 new CH47 (In addition to the planned 8 'daughters of Frankenstein Mk3')
Tristar Replacement or interim DAS equipped Dry Lease
25 C130
Spares for existing AH64
4 C17
60 UH60 for AAC as Lynx replacement

Above all else - More crews/spanner monkeys to ease the hurt on the SH/AT Fleets.

New CAS(as in boss, not close air)

Move the CAOC to RAF Maroochydore (Sunshine Coast - Queensland Australia for the uninformed).

If they can deliver GBU-12 from a conex in Nevada, surely they could link the comm to the CAOC to somewhere more desirable than Qatar.

Aether, you need to shop somewhere else - Eurofighter GMbH are doing an offer on Typhoons which undercuts Asda's price by some thirty million!

I would buy 12 (120 mil) reapers for Afghanistan Iraq to releive the MR2, then buy 6 (360 mil) global hawks to replace the MR2 fleet as the global hawk could do the maritime job as it satnds at the moment.

Hmmmmmmm, 20 mil left plus savings go to the SH fleet to buy some Blackhawks as they appear to be what my friends would like to fly instead of a random Merlin with a ton of armor plating in the back!
