If you insist on posting on the threads I start please type something even mildl intelligable.

Now back to mess, you have work to do!

Rimmed or unrimmed?

you could always grow some sack and tell the missus to "wife up"!

Either that, ditch her and get a more understanding model. That advice will save you a fortune in divorce fees and settlements if you heed it now.

There is an advantage to all the time away, fun and frolics getting paid extra to do so. When you go to the sandpit you get tax free salary, extra "danger" allowances and war leave paid with said allowances. Added to that you are doing a fun job you volunteered for. Spend on average 6-9 months away a year mostly due to the bloody thing has props and flies so low and slow.
Nagger will hack it or most likely not when you are late home again, get a WAAF for those cold nights when you run out of themes, leave the chunky ones to the Eng they prefer them that way.

Tommy, welcome!

As with most of us at ISK time away works out at about 4 months every year. On top of that we have standby for SAR - about another 3 months of the year. With pre and post det work up total of 4 weeks and leave, there is precious little time for normal training.

I'm not saying it is bad - that's not the point. Just that if the Mrs isn't happy now she will not be happy once you join. It's a lot of fun as a singly though!!!!

oh...... ditch the handle TommyGun, especially if you end up at ISK. You will then know why!!

Don't shoot me but . . .

The plan is to separate out the 'good' dets from the bad ones. That way you will still be away for x months but won't feel so bad about it.

Then the plan was 1-4. 4 months away and 12 months home but that wasn't working so, if I got it right, they will change it to 8 months away and 24 months at home. Shafted harder for longer.

Then the only group now being shafted are SAC Firefighters.

Hope you all fell better now
