19 Sqn Hawk truly does look fabulous but I don't like the '19' on the fin, it just doesn't look right - anyone agree/disagree? Great pics though WOW!!!
Why not just the blue and red roundels on the wings, like the Spit has? Any ideas?

What a great colour scheme for the Hawk. Congratulations for all those involved - especially with the amount of hurdles that had to be jumped to 'make it so'.
A good historical theme to the paint job. Interestingly the diameter of the red circle on the Spitfire fuselage roundel has not been replicated by the Hawk. This occurred to the RNHF Sea Fury and I don't think was spotted for a while. Doesn't detract from a good job and great photos

Stunning shots - I love the last one where it looks like they are about to split.
And as much as I think the Hawk is a pretty aeroplane - especially when given a 'proper' military paintscheme, the Spit really does make your heart melt and think of a glamorous blonde in a slinky dress purring away at a cocktail party, with the rest of the room hanging on every word.
Ah well, born 50 years too late ... bugger.

Maybe it's just me but I think it looks horrible. Okay, it's an authentic scheme and it was nice idea, but to me it looks as naff as all the other "air show" schemes applied to the Hawk. Personally, if an amusing repaint is on the cards, I would have gone for the original post-delivery red/white/grey scheme or the grey/green tactical camouflage. Having said that, I'd be fascinated to see what the Hawk would have looked like in the two trainer schemes which had been abandoned before the Hawk came along, ie the silver scheme with yellow trainer bands, and of course the lovely light grey scheme with dayglow strips! But dressing an advanced trainer up as a Spitfire? Nah!
1 and 2 are nice shots. Nice work, Richard! Shame that 3 has lots of motion blur; but at 125/sec and f8 there's not much else you could have done without freezing the prop.
