Professional Aviator Supplements
I have been delving around the resettlement pages of Armynet and came across a table with information on Professional Aviator Supplements. Anyone know anything about them?

If you are on the PA spine and on AFPS 75, then for every year you serve beyond your IPP (subject to serving at least 5 years on the PA spine) you receive X pence per day increase to your pension. Clear as mud you see!
So an NCO pilot OR 6 who has done 10 years on the PA spine will get 10 * 0.999 pence per day in addition to their normal pension, extra a day on retirement.
You got that.
If you are on AFPS 05 then the PA supplements do not apply to you.

So, this leads to more questions....
Is the supplement commensurate with your rank held ie 5 years at OF2 and 3 years at OF3 or is it cumalitive ie whatever rank you retire at? Which IPP? I commissioned after my NCO IPP therefore I have passed two IPPs, is it backdated to my original IPP or to my Officers one? Or is from entering the scheme?
Finally, with my future uncertain at the time of OTT, I had little choice but to remain AFPS75. Two years on and I am offered PES(A) and employment until full retirement....bugger. Anyone got an easy fix how to get myself onto AFPS05? The only answer I have is to retire and re-enlist, then you have the choice, not certain the system will play ball. Worth about £10k pa so got to be worthwhile, bottle of Gin to the person who provides a successful answer!

Pension Calculator
Does anyone know if the MOD Pension Calculator works properly for PES(A) calculations?
It seems to show very little difference in pension entitlement for an OF3 at 21 years service (IPP + 5 years on PES(A)) on PES(A) as for an OF3 at 21 years on a regular engagement. I was under the impression that the difference would be quite a lot, since it should take into account your flying pay.
If this is accurate, what is the point of PES(A)?
