Whatever Next!

What are they thinking of - an RAF Bikini!

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main...nbikini126.xml

Anyone planning to buy one for themselves or a loved one?!

Shouldn't we be having money spent on more useful things - diamante CS95 maybe?!

Hmm - £15 for size 18 knickers? What an horrendous thought!

Perhaps the fact that the bra and knickers are sold separately speaks volumes about the target market?

What utter ar$e dreamed up this latest way of letting the other services take the total pi$$ out of the RAF?

Group Captain Andy Turner, communications director of the RAF, said the merchandising campaign helps promote understanding and awareness.
He said previously: "By associating our brand marks, including the RAF logo, on bikinis for over-weight slappers, we build up our image in Ibiza and Aya Napa and, just as importantly, bring us to the attention of young people who are the next generation of RAF personnel."

A complete non-story. the RAF Collection has been around for some time (and the previous bikini was even worse!) - completely self funding IIRC and therefore no money from the Defence Budget. End of.

Maybe the collection is self-funding, although I doubt it. Can't imagine a company putting up the initial costs, bet that came from service sources. And Gp Capt Andy Turner is funded from the public purse so there is definitely some wasted money somewhere.

God - get over it. Its just a part of the gp capts job - not that he personally runs it! All to do with trying to raise awareness of the RAF with the general public. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

And you want to see some of the Army Regimental stuff ....

Is this "initiative" from the same people that brought you the RAF "Spirit of Adventure"?

RN Nix

Widger: Did you forget HMS Cockatrice?

Irish Tempest: Indeed, yes, but done with so much better taste.

In RAF colours, the bikini top retails at £20, while the bottoms are £15. Sizes are available in 8 to 18.
Obviously they are not intending selling many to serving RAF(W)!!!

If it was up to me, they would be sporting two bloody great roundels on the top instead of that tacky diamante design. You know what they say - aim high...!

Mrs Morf says: 'If the girls have to wear that fashion faux pas, the men should have to wear RAF Speedos'.

Morf,

Yes, we've had the RAF Speedos conversation in the office this afternoon

Quite frankly I find the whole thing incredibly sexist: if the girls can look ridiculous in the RAF bikini, then the lads can look ridiculous in the matching Speedos.

Get a grip, RAF, let's have a bit of style here!!

I wonder how much material will be left after this EP round. Looks overspecced to me.

Must have saved money on the swimwear model to give a price break to the punters.
