Last year we "swapped" houses for a fortnight with a relative and her family They offered me the use of their second car but the Insurance Co would not put me on the insurance (although I have a British Licence) as I am resident overseas.

They have now switched to Direct Line who do provide such cover.

I used a similar 7 days free insurance recently when I changed my car, it was underwritten by Norwich Union and I, as a currently serving SNCO had no problems.

whilst serving at ISL I used NFU as my insurer. 1x heavily modified lard rover and a sports (ish) motorcycle. They hammered everyone else on level of cover and price.......sadly not any more
