A Hellfire a day keeps the Boghammer away!
Just back from a very unofficial 2 day visit to Norfolk Va and this is the saying du jour. This time I think they mean it. Uncle Sam won't be intimidated and is intent on action. Which I have to say I fully support. Watch this space.
Last time they tried this stunt was during the Iraq/Iran war. I was on London doing escort work when one of their Vosper frigates came up to us and our charges demanding that they "inspect" our red duster flying merchantmen. They turned their aft 35mm on us, to which my Captain, Greg Littlejohn said "We don't like that" then gave instructions on an open channel to both our Lynx which were airborne and locked on with Sea Skua, that if they fired just one round, they were to sink it without further instruction from him. The spineless cowards fled and we laughed our heads off when the Americans blew it to pieces with Standards a few weeks later.
I have nothing but utter contempt for them. The other things we did, I'll keep to myself.

Well, I've been staring at the space between your first and second paragraphs for a while now and nothing has happened. Am I supposed to see a cow that morphs into an old crone?
And isn't a Hellfire a bit of expensive overkill when they have guns/CIWS on the Yank ships?

Gainsy,
I think you may be looking in the wrong place. The space may morph into a pretty spout of water with little hard lumps and soft squishy centre.
(with apologies to Larsen)
