With reference to the 'Stafford triangle', the rationalisation of DSDA does seem to have made things worse, with the closure of Stafford kit is now being sent to various storage depots in such quantities that it seems to wait around for several weeks before being brought on charge again, ie being put somewhere that it can be found again, even if in some cases that is a storage depot in Germany.
Around 50 RAF aerodromes closed in the time I was in the RAF.
Probably all had Officers' Messes and various squadron offices etc.
Most of which would have had some art hanging on their walls.......
So where are they?

If the art / silver was non public - i.e. it was provided by someone then it would have been sent back to the original donor or their relatives. Very little art is provided at public expense, so not much would be left to offer out again.
