Great show...... and no doubt some jumped up MP will now be on the phone or writing to CAS to complain about the cost of such a venture and to question how an Air Force which proclaims to be at full stretch can spare an expensive aircraft and an entire active runway to perform such a trick.....Good show though

Did anyone else notice the one Hammond was walking down the wing on? Looked like it was missing the front end.
I assume this was the one that suffered the accident on landing - but I'm still surprised it's not gone back to BAe by now.

I thought that it was one of the best episodes in a long, long time, probably a good 2 or 3 years. The BBC piece was very well done; the sight of the car driving behind the news readers desk made me choke on my drink. They managed last night, to keep enthusiasts happy while keeping it mainstream, they seemed to have lost the knack of getting that balance right.
The RR piece was almost as good as JC's Phantom piece, the star in a reasonably priced car only made a passing reference to his book, the 599 looked subliminal and Ken Livingstone got a half decent mauling, which is always good. As much as I like the Fifth Gear crew, they'll be wondering what on earth they have to do, to catch up. Apart from getting 5 times the production budget. The general camera work has to change though, those moody filtered skies and cropped long shots have been done to death. The Typhoon photography was fantastic though.

F 35 ( http://www.race-cars.com/carsales/cr...5/1114531675ss ) v Typhoon? I'm not sure Top Gear would be interested but they may want to compare it to the Lagonda.

One thing I noticed was that after Typhoon had crossed the finish line it went away doing a Victory Roll ('....and if you EVER do that again....') and I thought that if the car had won he couldn't have done that.
Then I thought; 'but Hammond is driving and it's on a runway. Maybe.......'.
