OK, I'll bite.
Six weeks ago we didn't have a hope of getting through the first stages.
Six weeks ago the Aussies I know laughed at us when England were stated as the World Champions.
Six weeks ago, the French were going to win the Rugby Union World Cup (even though the wise money was on an all-antipodean final).
England may not have retained the Title (I don't think anyone ever has), but at least they gave it a good go - and I for one would happily buy every one of them a drink! (Mess prices of course, let's not get carried away)
