Posting to BFPO direct from USA

Sorry for the odd question but a friend in the US has asked if its possible to post comfort packs direct from Texas to my 2 sons in sandy places, using the BFPO address numbers we have for them?
Must admit I have not thought about that question and it doesn't appear in the BFPO FAQ's

Got this to work previously by simply mailing it to BFPO XX, London, UK with a local stamp to get it to the UK.

Certainly used to work.
