Typhoon going to the Saudis...

... or is it?

I know our politicians wouldn't know a Hawk from a Merlin, but have BAe pulled off the biggest scam in military history...

Ssshhh... if you keep schtum, we may get to keep out tranche 3 AND still get JSF, as well as getting £18bn for our old GR4s.

This is innovative procurement.

Gordon - I take it all back.

Genius!

Going by the description of the Tonka on that page, F3's have been bombing Donna all morning.

My word!

I'm too cynical to be impressed I'm afraid. On the other hand, if Gordo had managed to pull off this one..

From the article shown on Harrogate's perceptive fron page

"........there will be a flypast over the city of Cardiff on Sunday 30th September.
The formation will comprise 2 Harrier aircraft of Joint Force Harrier drawn from No.20 Squadron RAF Cottesmore, and will be flown by a RN Officer and a RAF Officer. "

I.e front page news: RAF aircrew participating in 50% of a two ship pass.

And we get accused of taking the p*ss.

REDTPI - well if it had been a 100% RAF effort, it'd have meant that JFH was only commemorating the efforts of 1 Sqn and the RAF exchange chaps on the SHAR in 1982. 50-50 seems a fair split (since you can't have 30% of an RAF pilot...)

I'm surprised there isn't a random picture of a VC10 accompanying the story, though. RAF News appear to be letting standards slip.
