If they refurbish, then close that airfield in Fife you can bet they will do the hangers at the same time, then they will end up being used for grain storage space or something worse.....

Like a (former) airfield on a windy hilltop in Lincolnshire.....

On the subject of old airfields, are Upper Heyford and Bedford still giant car Park's these days out of interest?

The MoD have committed to paper many times recently that Scampton's runway isn't fit for large-scale flying operations without a total re-surface, which ain't gonna happen.

Leeming had a hell of a lot spent on it not so long back and has loads of facilities.

Well thats it then all the money spent on Leeming it's going to close and Scampton will stay cause it's accommodation is sh1t and the infrastructure needs millions.
