FO explains how to confirm "spies" are not British....

DefenseNews: Three Foreigners Detained at Russian Air Show By AGENCE FRANCE-PRESS, MOSCOW

Three foreign nationals were detained at an air show outside Moscow in an area used by military aviation enterprises, Russian news agencies reported Aug. 24, quoting police sources.

The Interfax news agency quoted police Colonel Anatoly Dunayev on Aug. 24 as saying the three were British citizens who had been handed over to the FSB internal security service for further inquiries. A police statement from Aug. 22 said that three foreigners had been detained at the MAKS-2007 air show in the town of Zhukovsky “for illegal presence in a technology zone.”

Britain’s Foreign Office denied the three were British nationals and said they were English-speaking tourists who were briefly detained for jumping a queue for toilets and entering an off-limits zone. A Foreign Office spokesman told AFP that they were held for “jumping a queue in the toilets and going through a fence they shouldn’t have gone through.”

“The fact that they were jumping the queue means they can’t possibly be British,” he added..........
