It's no secret that that bit of Star Wars was based on that bit of The Dam Busters. Just shows, they don't make 'em like they used to.

Nice to see Harrier employed so usefully in the Air Defence role.

I was at the Möhne Dam one evening at dusk (possibly 6:33) just before the World Cup last year and it was being assaulted even then, but this time by Mosquitos! My other half thought I was mad to go stand in the middle through that lot!

It's all very well having a Möhne bout it, but Eder thought that this might be a Sorpe oint with some users, who might well have a nig.gerl about it.

By coincidence the Mohne dam was on German TV this week - They could do with 617 again

They've had so much rain the dam is overflowing and they're having to pipe it off down into the valley. Sure a lanc or two could assist

..and you can still see the repair from last time

Cool Mohne Dam 1979

I remember flying the Dambuster profile in one of 3 Gazelle HT1s on the pretext of cross country training in the spring of 1979 - daylight, no flak or searchlights, lots of fun and back in time for stickies and medals too! We got away with it too because we never mentioned the War (or the Star Wars)!

Indeed Ferret, and by the Strike Canberras of RAF Germany (my memory is of the late 60's) and the tourists flocked to watch, it is alleged.
