Devil Ken Goodwin

Just a query. Is Air Commodore Ken Goodwin still with us? I got to know him in the early 1960's when he was a FltLt with CFE at West Raynham and the RAF's Hunter 6 display pilot. Some fabulous displays of a nature not seen today and which gave him quite the reddest facial colour seen on the airshow circuit. He went on to command 74 Squadron on Lightnings and was with the Royal Flight at one time.

A fantabulous party goer and a superb pilot who rose to a rank that all thought utterly unattainable with his reputation.

Cheers,

Trapper 69

PS - My reason for asking is that nearly 50 years after we flew together, on a type check for him in a Tiger Moth at Little Snoring, it would be nice to get in touch. I am, however, not into seances or planchette boards.

Yes, he is still around...Don't think his eyes are as bloodshot as they were in his Aerobatic display days. His aerobatics were the finest I ever saw...I'll just try to find a relevant link to his whereabouts.

Just try these:-

WHAT a website!

I could spend hours going through that, and now that I've saved it, I probably will.

Good effort for landing a Sabre on the autobahn too.

As he's alive and (presumably) drawing his pension, the pensions people at Innsworth can help (or wherever they are now).

They won't tell you where someone is of course, but ISTR they'll forward a letter ... or maybe that excellent service is something else JPA has put paid to.....

You could contact the 74 Sqn Association Sec on [email protected].

He will be able to put you in touch if possible.

Devil

Many thanks for the advice. I gleaned an email address from the JSL website and have sent him an email. Hopefully it will work.

Cheers,
