Question to PPRuNe re Access
Why am I not allowed to access PPRuNe on my computer at work? For obvious reasons, I don't want to log on at work as the men in black Omegas would be lined up at the office door (it is MoD property after all). For many years I've looked at PPRuNe in the quiet hours, now I get a message that I've exceeded the number of Forums I am allowed to look at----so, no look at PPRuNe at work.
Why?
Why?
It is a gagging policy enforced by the Ministry of Love who don't want people to know the truth about today's military........
Tightgit
Don't take it personally!
I can't log on at work either, and neither can all sorts of other people in the civil sector!

I suggest that access is blocked at your end. Everyone looking at PPRuNe can take a view in all forums except those that are 'forbidden fruit' - like the private and admin ones.

Seen Last week
I saw this last Wednesday or Thursday as well, when I wasn't logged in. However at home it's appears fine.
The message didn't look like a normal work lockout - That tends to say "This is not a work related site - It's blocked" or words to that affect.
This message definately implied - "You've had your chance to look - now go and register for the site". I'll have to check on Monday

Just re-enter your username and password or re-login if you are logged out.I believe if you are visiting Pprune as a guest there is a limit to the number of threads you are permitted to view. Every now and then the servers at work get reset and all your history files and cookies are deleted, this will also happen if there are any outages or power cuts.
A MOD/BT message will appear if you try to access a website that is not permitted ie,Ebay and as far as I'm aware Pprune is not a restricted site at work,YET!

I did, of course, assume you had registered with a username and password. Otherwise you get this:
Welcome to The PPRuNe Forums (The Professional Pilots Rumour Network).
You are currently viewing the forums as a guest which gives you limited access to view most discussion threads and some of the other features. By registering a Username, which is free, you will have access to post topics, reply to others, communicate privately with other members (PM), respond to polls and access other special features including the search function. Registration is fast, simple and absolutely free so please, join the PPRuNe community today!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us.
Hope that helps.

As PPPop has said, you need to be logged in to avoid this message. It is a new toy to try to encourage folk to register rather than browse as guest. If any of you receiving the message were actually logged in at the time rather than 'hiding' from the MODPLOD please let us know.
No black limos in PPRune-land as far as I am aware.

If your worried about the chaps in black Omegas, just create a new username that you only use at work, and only for reading not for posting. That has always worked for me in similar situations.
