Night approach practice on QM2 two nights ago

I Just wanted to hello to the naval air crew from HMS Illustrious who were doing night approaches on the QM2 a couple of nights ago. I was on the bridge on one of the Kelvin Hughes nav radar sets which happened to have an MTI and an "air" mode (unusual for a passenger liner!). We could keep a constant lock on you from 1.5 to 30 miles. No altitude of course, but a constant range and bearing on track 1120 was not much of a problem. Commercial sets have come a long way! Good fun and thanks, happy landings. Weapons tight throughout of course!
